There's something special about a comb in the Chinese belief. It has a connotation of love, of promise. In ancient China, the man would comb his wife's hair the next day after their comsummation. There's this chinese phrase "fa qi" which means "hair wife" in direct translation.I also remember someone broke a comb and placed it in the coffin of his lover's to seal their promise to be together forever.

Measures 48cm from end to end (including 5.5cm extension chain); butterfly filligree measures 6cm by 4cm.
